Theatre Messiah

Although I was never a theater major, I did enjoy performing on a stage for as long as I can remember. My first part was as an extra and an understudy for a play in seventh grade. I also participated in my high school musicals every year taking the male dance captian my Junior and Senior years. I was also able to attend an acting camp one summer at (wouldn't you know) Messiah College.

Once I arrived at Messiah (as a college student), I did want to continue with my thesbian experience. Due to my heavy involvement in other organizations (as you have hopefully read about most by now) and my job at Wal*Mart, I was unable to meet most of the rehersal guidelines and thus was only able to partake in two different performing experiences.

My first shot at acting was in the Shakespearian play "Much Ado About Nothing," where I played the character Dogbury. My senior year, I participated in the musical "Pirates of Penzance." The play I did for fun, but the musical was a class that I received credit for. Not only did we have to be in the play (either acting or stage crew), we also helped build sets and promote the show. These performances were done under the Theatre Messiah label, but I also did act in some student written productions including the ones for Phi Omega Chi.
