The Swinging Bridge
The Swinging Bridge is Messiah College's student newspaper. I wrote for The Swinging Bridge all four years I attended Messiah College. My freshman year, I wrote for the Sports section covering games as well as team updates. My sophomore year, I was The Swinging Bridge's liaison to Senate. I would attend every Senate meeting and write an update for the students that would be printed in the next issue of the newspaper. My junior and senior year I was homeless writing whenever and wherever I was needed. Mostly, I stayed with the News and Magazine sections. A typical article involved researching my topic, interviewing essential people as well as general students for opinions, and good writing skills to convey my thoughts to the student body in an organized and interesting manner. I also wrote for the Editor's page throughout my college career whenever needed, usually 4 to 5 times a year. I have included some samples of my writing below.
