I'm Worth Waiting For
The Capital Area Pregnancy Center goes to high schools and youth
groups in South Central Pennsylvania giving presentations on
abstinence. Students from Messiah College often go along on
these presentations to help with skits and role-plays. We serve
as examples to the students that you can be out of high school and
never have had sex. It can be done. We help the students
to come up with reasons why people would want to wait for marriage to
have sex. We also include a message for those who already have
been sexually active : a message of renewed virginity. When
presenting to youth groups, we also include God in our
discussion. We share how sex is a gift from God and that God
wants us to wait, not as a punishment, but so that we may enjoy it so
much more with our future spouse. I had been involved with the
Capital Area Pregnancy Center from January 1995 though graduation.
